Job Summary
Teach and coach in the West Geo/AP Human Geo program for boys at the high school level. Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to district curricula; conduct ongoing assessments; collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula per IEPs; manage classroom behavior; plan and supervise extracurricular activities; communicate professionally with parents and staff; participate in staff development and comply with state, district, and school policies; support mission of the school district and serve on committees as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training or work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- CPR and AED certification for Physical Education role (maintained while in position)
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
- Develop and implement lesson plans; assess student learning; manage behavior; participate in professional development; sponsor extracurricular activities as assigned
- Compliance with TEA standards, district policies, and administrative regulations
