Job Summary
VUTEk Operator to set up, operate, and maintain EFI VUTEk wide-format printers. Responsibilities include loading media, inks, and curing systems; preparing and managing print files with color management, ICC profiling, and soft proofing; startup, calibration, maintenance, and cleaning of printers per manufacturer guidelines; monitoring output for color accuracy and consistency; troubleshooting printing issues and coordinating with service technicians; managing media inventory and basic production maintenance; ensuring safety standards and production procedures are followed; collaborating with prepress, finishing, and shipping teams to meet deadlines; documenting job settings, production parameters, and quality checks for repeatable workflows.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in large-format printing (VUTEk/EFI experience strongly preferred)
- Strong knowledge of color management, ICC profiles, and print proofing workflows
- Familiarity with RIP software such as Wasatch, Caldera, or EFI Fiery
- Experience with file formats including PDF, TIFF, and EPS for print production
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to perform basic printer maintenance and troubleshooting
- Strong attention to detail with commitment to high-quality, color-accurate output
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with tight deadlines
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift materials as required in production settings
