Job Summary
This internship role focuses on vulnerability research in offensive cyber practices, providing interns with unique learning experiences not found in typical curricula. Interns will analyze systems to understand their behaviors and develop skills in both developing and defeating advanced security techniques. Responsibilities include documenting research results, modifying research tools, and productizing successful research for delivery. Candidates should possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher, experience with C or C++, and be enrolled in a relevant Bachelor's or Master's program. Additionally, understanding OS internals and networking protocols, along with experience in reverse engineering, are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- GPA of 3.0+ in a 4.0 grade scale
- Experience with C or C++
- Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master's degree program in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) typically Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related area
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
- U.S. citizenship is required, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Understanding of OS Internals (any major OS)
- Experience reading or writing assembly (x86, x64, ARM, PPC, MIPS, SPARC, 68k, or others)
- Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP stacks, wire-level protocols, RF communications, BGP, routing protocols, or others)
- Understanding of exploit mitigations such as DEP and ASLR
- Experience using reverse engineering tools such as IDA Pro, HexRays, Ghidra, Binary Ninja, or objdump
- Experience using debuggers such as gdb, WinDbg, OllyDbg
- Experience building and using tools to find, exploit, and productize vulnerabilities in complex software systems
