Job Summary
As a VRS Interpreter, you will provide access and inclusion for the Deaf community by interpreting telephone calls and conducting remote interpreting using a custom-built platform. Key responsibilities include ensuring confidentiality, assessing safeguarding concerns, interpreting calls to partner organizations, and translating written documents as needed. Candidates must be registered as a Sign Language Interpreter and possess three years of relevant experience, along with a suitable home working environment with reliable internet. Support from experienced Lead Interpreters and opportunities for CPD are provided.
Required Qualifications
- Registered with the NRCPD, RBSLI, or SRLPDC as a Registered Sign Language Interpreter.
- Three years post qualification and experience in a range of domains.
- Suitable home working space
- Fast, reliable broadband connected via an ethernet cable
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in video interpreting (though training will be provided)
- Technology comfortable
- Flexibility in your approach to work
- Other Sign Language skills an advantage
