Job Summary
Lead and teach approximately 20 children aged 4-5 with a co-teacher, implementing the proprietary L.E.A.P. Curriculum® in our Voluntary Prekindergarten Program. Create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn while serving as a role model to inspire a love of learning. Communicate regularly with parents through mobile apps and personal discussions, conducting parent/teacher conferences to share children's achievements. Partner with center staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment and engagement, building relationships with families and coworkers to create a seamless learning environment.
Required Qualifications
- At least one year of professional teaching experience
- DCF 45
- High school diploma/GED
- Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP)
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Must meet state specific guidelines for the role
- Florida VPK Emergent Literacy Certifications
Desired Qualifications
- 2 plus years of professional preschool teaching experience
- CDA
- Florida Staff Credential
- Associate degree
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- At least 1–2 years of successful VPK, Pre-K, or preschool classroom experience
- Previous experience with VPK assessments and kindergarten-readiness instruction
- Experience conducting parent-teacher conferences and documenting student progress
