Job Summary
This newly created VP role is responsible for building Firebird Label Services' synchronization licensing offering from the ground up, including pitching and securing sync opportunities across repertoire, establishing sync processes across the catalog, and serving as a key liaison between internal finance/legal teams and external partners. Responsibilities include negotiating licensing clearances, coordinating with creative teams and partners to identify opportunities, developing a comprehensive sync database, managing end-to-end paperwork and invoicing, and driving cross-functional collaboration for product launches and agile release management. The role also entails overseeing tool adoption, documentation of processes, and ensuring legally sound execution of synchronization licenses across new releases and catalog, while cultivating strategic relationships within the sync community.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in synchronization licensing at a record label or music publisher
- Established relationships and an extensive network within the sync community
- Strong negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to drive revenue
- Comprehensive knowledge of contract execution and administrative procedures as they relate to synchronization rights
- Proven experience managing, documenting, and administering license terms and conditions
- Advanced proficiency in music rights databases and digital rights management systems
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal and financial concepts to both creative and business partners
