Job Summary
Lead and grow a 40-person development team in East Europe, fostering technical excellence across software developers and QA engineers. Ensure on-time delivery of high-quality projects while defining and improving agile software development processes. Guide technical architecture for cloud/SaaS environments, overseeing microservice and event-oriented design principles using the company's full-stack technology stack. Collaborate with product management to align technical execution with business goals and translate market needs into strategic roadmaps. Manage performance metrics and career pathways for team members while maintaining standards for code quality, scalability, and healthcare compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- 10+ years of experience in R&D managerial roles
- Proven experience as VP R&D managing teams of 35+ engineers
- Demonstrated success managing remote development groups
- Strong technical background with ability to perform hands-on tasks in full-stack development when needed
- In-depth understanding of enterprise-scale application development in cloud/SaaS environments
- Proficiency with microservice/event-oriented design principles
- Working knowledge of the company's technology stack including Angular, PHP frameworks, NodeJS, and various databases
- Experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure
- Exceptional leadership skills with proven ability to motivate distributed teams
- Proactive, highly motivated approach with strong work ethic
- Goal-oriented mindset with focus on measurable outcomes
- Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strategic thinking balanced with tactical execution capabilities
