Job Summary
Develop and implement a comprehensive quality strategy for electrical systems and software across all product lines, partnering with Engineering, Product, Operations, and Compliance to integrate quality early in the development lifecycle. Establish rigorous testing and validation protocols for embedded systems, firmware, and companion apps while ensuring adherence to industry standards such as UL, FCC, CE, ISO 26262, IEC 61508, GDPR, and cybersecurity regulations. Drive quality risk assessments during concept, design, and launch phases, overseeing hardware-software integration validation and leading root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, and quality incident resolution. Leverage analytics, field data, and user feedback to identify issues, using KPIs and dashboards to track defect rates and software performance. Build and lead a cross-functional team of electrical quality engineers, software QA, and systems testers to champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 15+ years of experience in hardware/software quality engineering
- 5+ years in a senior leadership role
- Proven expertise in embedded systems, IoT devices, mobile applications, and consumer product development
- In-depth knowledge of QA methodologies, standards, and tools for both hardware and software (e.g., ISO 9001, ISTQB, Agile testing, JIRA, Jenkins, automated testing)
- Strong knowledge of product safety, EMC, and cybersecurity standards
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with connected products, smart home devices, wearables, or other electronics-heavy consumer goods
- Certifications in Quality (ASQ, ISTQB), Six Sigma, or Agile/Scrum frameworks
- Experience managing distributed quality teams and global manufacturing partners
