Job Summary
Conduct seasonal concept presentations and design into assortments across hard goods and soft goods categories. Manage a team of designers and product developers while overseeing the development process from initial concepts through production approval. Review all product samples and finishes with PD teams to ensure quality standards are met. Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Merchandising, Sourcing, Quality Assurance, Compliance, and Planning to align design plans with business strategy. Maintain strong communication with external vendors and internal teams including retouching, photography, and web photography groups. Actively track and manage annual sample and shipment budgets. Execute design specifications and sample comments clearly across languages.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 12+ years of work experience in a related field
- A firm grasp of the RH customer and overall brand aesthetic
- Strong sketching abilities
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Proven track record of designing into business plans that drive results
- In-depth knowledge of designing and manufacturing across hard-goods product categories - furniture, lighting, décor & accessories
- Soft goods experience
- Strong listening, written, and verbal communication skills that are effective across global culture and language barriers
- Highly organized with the ability to own the design process from concept to production, while overseeing a small team and managing multiple projects/deadlines
- Entrepreneurial attitude with a strong understanding of business strategy and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done
- Proven ability to achieve results in a fast-paced dynamic environment
