Job Summary

The Vice President of Operations serves as a senior member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta (BGCGA) Executive Leadership Team, accountable for the integrated delivery of youth-serving programs and services across multiple Club locations. The role provides strategic and operational oversight across six director-level portfolios (Programs, Operations, Teen Services, Human Resources, Athletics, Support Services), ensuring fidelity to the Future READY framework across a multi-site, multi-county footprint. Key responsibilities include strategic leadership, multi-site program quality and delivery, operational excellence and compliance, teen services and workforce readiness, HR oversight, athletics and health programming, support services and member experience, budget and resource management (estimated $5M–$7M with growth toward $10M+), team leadership and culture, and representing the organization with boards, funders, and community partners. The candidate must demonstrate strong strategic thinking, execution, people leadership, data-driven decision making, and change leadership, with regular travel across the service area and evenings/weekends as needed. Regular collaboration with the CEO/EVP, and a mission-aligned, inclusive leadership style is essential.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Education, Social Work, or related field required; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in nonprofit, youth-serving, education, or human services organizations
  • Proven experience managing multi-site operations and leading director-level staff in a complex, high-volume environment
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans and translate vision into operational outcomes
  • Strong fiscal management experience, including budget oversight of $3M+
  • Experience managing human resources functions or serving as a senior partner to an HR team
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with comfort engaging boards, funders, and community partners
  • Working knowledge of youth development frameworks, program quality standards, and/or BGCA national standards
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging as organizational values, not just policies
  • Preferred: Experience in Boys & Girls Clubs of America-affiliated organizations or similar youth-serving nonprofits
  • Preferred: Familiarity with BGCA program quality tools including NYOI, Program Assessment, and LWR frameworks
  • Preferred: Experience leading workforce readiness, career pathways, or teen-focused programming initiatives
  • Preferred: Background in grant-funded environments with strong outcomes reporting requirements
  • Preferred: Experience in EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) or comparable organizational management frameworks
  • Preferred: Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply
