Job Summary
VP of Marketing to build and scale the defense-sector marketing function. Will inherit a small team and evolve it into a high-performance organization, sharpening the brand, expanding defense sector presence, and building credibility with DoD stakeholders, Defense Primes, and government audiences. Role combines strategy and hands-on delivery: define positioning, messaging architecture, and narrative; scale capabilities across brand, content, PR, events, digital, and field marketing; lead and develop the marketing team; partner with BD, Sales, Product, and Executive Leadership to support long-cycle defense and enterprise sales; drive awareness campaigns across strategic global accounts. Requires 10+ years of progressive marketing leadership, proven defense-sector experience with DoW/government stakeholders, and a track record of scaling marketing organizations in high-growth defense tech environments.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive marketing leadership with VP-level responsibility
- Experience building and executing marketing strategy within the defense sector (DoW audiences, Defense Primes, or government stakeholders)
- Track record of building or scaling marketing organizations at a Series B/C or high-growth defense tech company
- Experience owning positioning for complex, technical, or mission-critical technologies
- Comfortable operating in fast-moving environments where strategy and execution are integrated
