VP of Linehaul & Fleet Operations

Job Summary

Develop and execute enterprise transportation strategies optimizing service, safety, cost, and network performance across a $500M annual spend. Direct fleet, carrier, and intermodal operations including owned assets and third-party networks while managing capital investments and cost inflation. Lead Directors of Transportation, Hub-to-Hub Operations, and Carrier Management to drive operational excellence, safety compliance, and KPI frameworks. Negotiate multi-year agreements, represent the organization with carriers and regulators, and own the technology roadmap for TMS, telematics, and AI-driven optimization. Support commercial growth through network expansion analysis and pricing strategy evaluation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 15+ years of relevant experience, including significant leadership experience managing large-scale transportation, fleet, logistics, or operations organizations and leading leaders
  • Expert knowledge of transportation operations, linehaul networks, fleet management, maintenance operations, carrier relations, logistics, and supply chain management
  • Deep understanding of transportation economics, network modeling, operational strategy, and large-scale asset management
  • Comprehensive knowledge of transportation safety standards, regulatory compliance, risk management, and governance requirements
  • Expert knowledge of domestic truckload, LTL, dedicated fleet, intermodal, rail, drayage, and final-mile transportation markets
  • Proven experience leading transportation organizations supporting national parcel, express, e-commerce, retail distribution, or large-scale logistics networks with annual transportation spend exceeding $250M
  • Experience in rate negotiations and competitive RFPs
  • Up to 25% Travel
