Job Summary
Lead Wonder's Platform & Operations Engineering organization, reporting to the CTO, to own the multi-cloud infrastructure across Azure, GCP, and AWS while driving consolidation and modernization. Manage container orchestration at scale, observability, and SRE capabilities for all brands, including logistics dispatch, developer tools, and frontend platforms. Own merchant operations systems and care technology, ensuring real-time dispatch and developer productivity across Wonder, Grubhub, and Blue Apron. This role requires 15+ years of engineering experience with a track record of high-availability production platforms and multi-cloud expertise. The position offers a salary of $345,000-$404,500 in New York, with a hybrid schedule of three office days.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of engineering experience
- 4+ years leading infrastructure or platform engineering organizations at Senior Director level
- Track record of owning high-availability production platforms at scale
- Deep experience with multi-cloud infrastructure: Azure, GCP, and AWS in production environments
- Strong expertise in container orchestration (Kubernetes/AKS), Kafka, observability stacks, and SRE practices
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant STEM discipline
- Equivalent practical experience leading complex engineering organizations at scale
Desired Qualifications
- Experience leading logistics or real-time dispatch platform engineering
- Track record of improving developer productivity and building internal developer platforms
- Ability to recruit senior infrastructure and platform engineers and build a high-trust, high-output org
- Comfortable operating across engineering cultures in a fast-moving, acquisition-heavy environment
- Experience preparing infrastructure and platforms for IPO-level operational maturity and audit readiness
