Job Summary
VP of Business Development for Fidelity Private Shares in a remote role based in San Francisco, CA. Drive new business growth by embedding yourself in the startup ecosystem, activating founder pipelines, and converting relationships into qualified sales opportunities. Build and scale an ecosystem-engagement strategy, lead regional events, and partner with venture firms, law firms, accelerators, and innovation hubs to generate founder introductions and pipeline. Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product teams to align messaging and convert opportunities into clients, while representing Fidelity as a leader in the startup community. Requires 15+ years in business development or partnerships roles, a proven ability to source opportunities through relationships, and strong networking and communication skills. The role includes travel for events and a salary range of $130,000–$264,000 plus benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 15+ years of proven experience in Business Development, Partnerships, or Sales roles focused on ecosystem building, community engagement, or pipeline generation
- Proven track record to source and develop new business opportunities through relationships and community presence
- Strong networking, presentation, and communication skills — with the ability to engage founders and senior partners
- Experience hosting or organizing events that drive significant business outcomes
- Understanding of SaaS business models and the venture/startup ecosystem
- Track record of building new markets, expanding networks, and converting relationships into revenue opportunities
- Existing relationships within venture capital firms, law firms, or startup communities strongly preferred
