Job Summary
Lead and develop the Corporate Accounting team in Phoenix, setting the vision, standards, and performance culture for the department. Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely, accurate financial uniformity across multifamily, commercial, hospitality, and food & beverage portfolios. Strengthen internal controls, audit readiness, and accounting policies while championing automation, AI-enabled tools, and higher-powered computing to modernize reporting cycles. Partner with Enterprise Systems and IT to optimize Yardi Voyager, Power BI, and Azure Data Lake for analytics. Manage external auditor, tax advisor, and banking partner relationships, leading process re-engineering to reduce manual effort and increase operational speed.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
- 5+ years in a leadership role
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- strong technical GAAP knowledge

- Partnership effectively with the finance and operational executive leadership
- Demonstrated aptitude and enthusiasm for advancing accounting operations through automation, data analytics, and emerging technology
- Use of AI tools to support research, analysis, content development, design, reporting, or operational efficiency
- Compliance with company policies, data privacy requirements, confidentiality obligations, and applicable laws regarding AI
- Review of all AI-generated or AI-assisted outputs for accuracy, quality, and appropriateness
- Disclosure when AI tools have been used in the creation of work
- Not presenting AI-generated content as solely their own original work
- Minimum an official virtual or in-person interview prior to offer stage
