Job Summary

Prepare, negotiate, and track various trading and financing agreements with counterparties including dealers, banks, hedge funds, and insurance companies. Drive the new business pipeline by managing priorities with stakeholders and identify opportunities for process improvement. Work on regulatory implementation projects, amend templates, and mitigate business and legal risks within compliance requirements. Collaborate with senior Sales and Trading management to articulate complex documentation issues. This hybrid role in New York or Charlotte supports the growth of Wells Fargo's US trading business within Corporate & Investment Banking. Candidates must pass FINRA background screening and adhere to ongoing regulatory obligations.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Capital Markets Document Negotiation experience
  • Must be able to prepare, negotiate and track various trading and financing agreements such as the ISDA Master Agreement, the Cleared Derivative Execution Agreement, the Master Repurchase Agreement, the Global Master Repurchase Agreement, the Sponsored Repo Annex, the Master Securities Forward Trading Agreement and the SIFMA Done With form
  • Must be able to drive new business pipeline with all stakeholders according to business priorities
  • Must be able to work on various projects, including regulatory implementation, amending and updating templates, processes and systems
  • Must be able to identify and mitigate business and legal risks within compliance requirements
  • Must be able to identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement
  • Must be able to collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including senior Sales and Trading management
  • Must be able to practice a high degree of organization so that multiple negotiations can be prioritized and managed
  • Must be able to grasp and articulate basic credit, operational, legal and business issues which arise during the negotiation and execution processes
  • Must be able to explain and articulate documentation issues concisely and clearly to internal stakeholders
  • Must be able to think through solutions
  • Must be able to adhere to, relevant compliance, credit, legal, regulatory, operational and business policies and procedures
  • Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check
  • Must meet and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, which include periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents
  • Must be able to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and abide by applicable policy requirements if hired

Desired Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of ISDAs, CDEAs, MRAs, GMRAs, MSFTAs and related documentation including account control agreements
  • Solid understanding of Dodd Frank documentation issues including Regulatory Variation Margin and Initial Margin requirements
  • Existing negotiation relationships with significant US counterparties and understanding of the related documentation issues
  • Have experience reviewing and affirming counterparty organizational documentation and jurisdictional guidelines to ensure legal contract enforcement, collateral offset and that close out netting capabilities are maximized
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy, particularly as they relate to ongoing regulatory initiatives
  • Team player with excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex material to a diverse audience such as customers and senior management
  • Excellent understanding of the underlying transaction and security documents and be able to grasp and articulate basic credit, operational, legal and business issues which arise during the negotiation and execution processes
