Job Summary
Own financial operations, FP&A, and accounting across a three-entity, three-country structure, reporting directly to the Managing Director and interacting with the Board. Lead a small internal team and manage external consultants in Belgium and Germany for statutory bookkeeping, payroll, and compliance. Drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual close in NetSuite, ensuring accurate intercompany eliminations and US GAAP alignment. Oversee cash flow forecasting, treasury operations, and foreign exchange hedging across US, Germany, and Belgium. Manage Belgian innovation income deductions, German R&D tax incentives, and all statutory filings while preparing board materials and supporting fundraising activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 12+ years if Director of progressive finance/accounting experience
- experience in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment
- Direct, hands-on experience with Belgian and/or German statutory accounting and reporting requirements
- working knowledge of local filing obligations
- knowledge of how external accounting firms in those jurisdictions operate
- Demonstrated experience working across US and European entity structures
- subsidiary accounting
- intercompany transactions
- transfer pricing basics
- People management experience
- managing both direct employees and external consultants/outsourced accounting firms
- Track record of delivering timely, audited financial statements
- preparing board-level reporting materials
- Hands-on proficiency with NetSuite
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- French
- German would be advantageous

- ITAA, IBR-IRE, Wirtschaftspruefer, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification
