Job Summary
Own financial operations across three entities in Belgium, Germany, and the US, leading a small internal team and managing external accounting firms for statutory compliance and bookkeeping. Drive the monthly close, consolidate NetSuite financials with accurate intercompany eliminations, and oversee cash flow forecasting and treasury operations including FX hedging. Manage Belgian R&D tax incentives and grants while ensuring timely statutory filings and audited annual statements for all jurisdictions. Present board-level materials on variance analysis and cash runway, support fundraising due diligence, and establish scalable internal controls.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 12+ years if Director of progressive finance/accounting experience
- experience in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment
- Direct, hands-on experience with Belgian and/or German statutory accounting and reporting requirements
- working knowledge of local filing obligations
- knowledge of how external accounting firms in those jurisdictions operate
- Demonstrated experience working across US and European entity structures

- transfer pricing basics
- People management experience
- managing both direct employees and external consultants/outsourced accounting firms
- Track record of delivering timely, audited financial statements
- preparing board-level reporting materials
- Hands-on proficiency with NetSuite
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- French
- German would be advantageous

- ITAA, IBR-IRE, Wirtschaftspruefer, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification
