Job Summary
VP - Enterprise Risk: Oversee the design, implementation, and evolution of the ERM framework; partner across departments to identify, assess, and monitor risks; collaborate with legal counsel on mitigation; build a proactive compliance program; position the function as a value-generating partner; ensure a proactive, risk-based advisory strategy; maintain a resilient BSA/AML and fraud prevention program; innovate in fraud risk detection with real-time monitoring; promote shared accountability for risk; develop leadership within the risk division via mentoring and development opportunities; leverage AI/tools to enhance decisions and drive innovation. This role requires senior leadership experience in risk management and compliance within a financial institution, with deep regulatory knowledge and the ability to translate strategy into actionable programs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field required
- MBA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in risk management, compliance, BSA/AML, and/or fraud prevention, ideally within a complex financial institution
- Professional Certification in one or more of the designated competencies preferred
- Deep knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including NCUA, CFPB BSA/AML/OFAC, and other state and government agencies
- Ability to balance strategic vision with operational execution, utilizing metrics, trends, and analytics to inform decisions, prioritize resources, and track performance
- Models effective use of AI tools to enhance decisions, streamline processes, and drive innovation; guide adoption within the team while ensuring alignment with organizational goals, compliance, and best practices
