Job Summary
Maintain accurate voter registration records by processing applications received via mail, in person, and through the statewide system while verifying voter residence and eligibility. Ensure 100% accuracy in registration cards, records maintenance, and election procedures to validate election results. Provide customer service to the public by answering inquiries about registration laws, processing photo identification cards, and assisting with online tools. Enter data into computer systems, type documents, and manage office files in compliance with local, state, and federal laws. Act as a liaison for voters and elected officials while serving as a receptionist to direct visitors. Maintain current knowledge of Georgia and federal election laws to ensure department compliance. Available to work weekends and nonstandard hours with a favorable background history.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Moderate experience in administrative support and office operations including registration and election processes
- Completion of required State training
- Ability to obtain state County Registrar Certification
- Possession of current County Voter Registration
- Favorable background history as determined by review of local, State and Federal records
- Valid driver's license in the State of Georgia with a favorable driving history (MVR)
- Ability to be available to work weekends and nonstandard hours
- Ability to exhibit a professional demeaner/attire
- Ability to remain nonpartisan
- Knowledge of related industry, organization and department policies, practices and procedures
- Knowledge of related industry, organization and departmental legal guides, recommendations, best practices, ordinances and laws
- Thorough knowledge of the Georgia constitution
- Thorough knowledge of the Georgia Election Code Book
- Thorough knowledge of Georgia State Election Board Rules
- Thorough knowledge of voter registration processes
- General knowledge of voter lists and state reports
- Thorough knowledge of standard office equipment and software
- General knowledge of state voting equipment
- Thorough knowledge of GARVIS-State System
- Ability to alphabetize
- Ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals
- Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors, and the general public
- Ability to perform each essential function satisfactorily
