Job Summary
Manage a team of 40–60 hourly staff who will canvass door to door to talk to voters about defending reproductive rights. Canvass yourself several days a week to train staff and drive office goals while setting goals and holding staff accountable. Train and provide ongoing motivation and support to staff, identify and promote a leadership team, and implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity of the work. Develop strategic plans to reach targeted voters in assigned locations and manage administrative duties including reporting data, record keeping, and payroll. Build a diverse team where staff feel respected while fostering a culture of equity and justice. This role starts in September and reports to the Lead Director.
Required Qualifications
- Leadership experience; ability to motivate, grow, and manage a large team
- Eagerness to lead from the front and canvass several days a week
- Extreme attention to detail and a proven ability to instill that quality in others
- Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong passion for community organizing and fostering civic engagement
- Track record of equity and inclusion
- Ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends
- Preference for local candidates
Desired Qualifications
- Experience running paid canvasses or managing paid employees
- Familiarity with VAN and MiniVAN
- Experience working in underserved or marginalized communities
- Facilitation experience
- Local knowledge/experience
