Job Summary
Prepare bodies for Vortex and undercoating application by masking, taping, and prepping surfaces before operating spray equipment to apply linex and undercoat. Adjust equipment for proper flow and coating thickness, then inspect work after application while disposing of hazardous waste in accordance with federal and state laws. Maintain a clean work area, wear required PPE including respirators and paint suits, and document actions by completing production and quality forms. This role involves working in areas that are not ventilated or air-conditioned, requiring frequent mobility, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds. A high school diploma, valid driver's license, and experience with automotive paint and pressure feed spray equipment are required. Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with good standing MVR
- Some technical training helpful
- Must have experience in automotive paint and prep work
- Must have experience using pressure feed spray equipment
- Attention to detail is a must
- Able to use hand and power tools and equipment
- Ability to operate a forklift if required
- Must have basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constant demands and shifting of priorities
- Ability to work with all levels of employees
- Ability to be responsive and highly efficient with relaying information
- Ability to successfully complete respirator medical evaluation
- Ability to successfully pass a General Abilities Assessment and Post-offer background check, physical and drug screen
- Requires lifting up to 50 pounds frequently
- Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 75 pounds
- Requires eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate machinery
- Requires exposure to chemicals and solvents
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
- Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours
- Requires eyesight correctable to 20/20 to read numbers, reports and computer terminals
- Requires hearing within normal range
