Job Summary
Volunteer roles across advice and non-advice tasks for Citizens Advice, including talking to clients over the phone, online or face to face, completing an introduction to Citizens Advice, and carrying out information gathering, benefit checks, debt assessment and signposting. Non-advice tasks include meeting and greeting clients, handling information, booking appointments, assisting with feedback surveys, supporting specialist services and admin duties, plus helping with fundraising or events. The role offers training and the chance to develop communication, listening, and analytical skills while making a positive impact in the community.
Required Qualifications
- Willing to undertake comprehensive training in your role
- Commit to at least one day a week volunteering
- Friendly and approachable
- Good at listening to others
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good numeracy skills (essential for benefits and money advice roles)
- Able to demonstrate good IT skills
- Willing to learn about and follow the Citizens Advice aims, principles and policies
