Volunteer - Hospice Patient Support

Provide respite, friendly visits, or essential services such as errands and light housekeeping to patients in-home, at the Inpatient Unit, or in Long Term Care Facilities. Offer emotional support, companionship, and supportive listening while serving as an integral member of the Hospice interdisciplinary team. Assist the team by providing input to the plan of care and participate in bereavement follow-ups with families. Document volunteer time and patient visit activity accurately, maintain open communication with the volunteer coordinator, and adhere to all Rainbow Hospice policies and procedures. Complete mandatory annual education and health requirements. Maintain confidentiality at all times and assist in training new volunteers as appropriate.
