Volunteer - Hospice Patient Support

Provide respite, friendly visits, and essential services such as errands or light housekeeping to patients in-home, at the Inpatient Unit, or in Long Term Care Facilities. Offer emotional support, companionship, and supportive listening while serving as an integral member of the hospice interdisciplinary team. Assist the team by providing input to the plan of care and participate in bereavement follow-ups with families. Document volunteer time and patient visit activities accurately, maintain open communication with the coordinator, and uphold confidentiality. Adhere to Rainbow Hospice policies, complete mandatory annual education and health requirements, and assist in training new volunteers.
