Volunteer/Friendly Visitor - Hospice Patient Support

Provide respite, friendly visits, or essential services such as errands and light housekeeping to patients in-home, at the Inpatient Unit, or in Long Term Care Facilities. Offer emotional support, companionship, and supportive listening while serving as an integral member of the Hospice interdisciplinary team. Assist the team by providing input to the plan of care and participate in bereavement follow-ups with families. Document volunteer time and patient visit activity accurately, maintain open communication with the volunteer coordinator, and uphold confidentiality. Adhere to Rainbow Hospice policies, complete mandatory annual education, meet health requirements, and participate in support in-services and new volunteer training.
