Volunteer/Friendly Visitor - Hospice Patient

Provide respite, friendly visits, and essential services such as errands and light housekeeping to patients and families in-home, at the Inpatient Unit, or in Long Term Care Facilities. Offer emotional support, companionship, and supportive listening while serving as an integral member of the hospice interdisciplinary team. Assist the team by providing input to the plan of care and participate in bereavement follow-ups with families. Document volunteer time and patient visit activity accurately, maintain open communication with the coordinator, and adhere to all policies, health requirements, and mandatory education. Complete annual training and assist in training new volunteers as appropriate. Maintain confidentiality at all times.
