Job Summary
Respond to fire and medical emergencies 24/7 by riding apparatus, operating hose lines and ladders, assisting with ventilation and forcible entry, and supporting Basic Life Support alongside EMTs. Participate in regular drills and public education efforts to maintain operational readiness. Train with experienced career professionals while building leadership and discipline within the Seaside Fire & Rescue team. This non-paid, no-benefits position requires residents or workers within the district to attend minimum two Wednesday evening drills monthly, pass a background check and physical ability test, and hold a valid Oregon driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Reside or work within the district
- Pass a background check
- Pass a drug and alcohol screen (including marijuana)
- Pass a physical ability test
- Hold a valid Oregon driver's license
- Attend regular Wednesday evening drills (minimum of two per month)
- Respond when paged
