Job Summary
Coordinate implementation of Event-Based Surveillance activities in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, PORALG, and partners across Tanzania's mainland and Zanzibar. Provide technical assistance in reviewing and developing national guidelines, standard operating procedures, and training materials for surveillance officers. Perform epidemiological data analysis and interpretation to communicate findings to regional, district, and facility levels while mentoring staff on EBS operations in Kagera, Kigoma, and Mwanza regions. Participate in the National Surveillance Technical Working Group, prepare donor and internal reports, maintain project databases, and contribute to resource mobilization proposals. Submit all project activity reports with timely adherence to GHSA 2024 targets.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Field epidemiology and Laboratory management or Equivalent Field
- Knowledge in Development of scientific papers and epidemiological surveys
- Expert in busy Epidemiological settings and handling disease outbreaks and other Public Health Events of International Concern with 5 years of experience
- Sufficient knowledge and skills in computer (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access) including Internet, Intranet, browsing skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Sufficient knowledge and skills in Event Based Surveillance
- Deep knowledge of public health and related subjects
- Sufficient knowledge and skills in training, supervising and mentoring others in the profession including non- health personnel
