Job Summary
Oversee volunteer recruitment, training, and supervision at the El Cajon campus while managing daily engagement rounds, risk assessments, and supply inventory. Maintain accurate volunteer databases, host team meetings, and deliver personalized recognition to cultivate lasting relationships. Design accommodations for volunteers with varying abilities and review applications for promotional opportunities. Travel to other campus locations to support operations during special events or local disasters. Requires an associate's degree in a related field, three years of experience with two in volunteer work, and a valid driver's license. Starting pay is $26.60–$29.61 per hour with comprehensive benefits including a 403(b) match and free pet services.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, Hospitality or related field, or completion of sufficient coursework to successfully perform the required duties of the position
- Minimum of three (3) years of related experience
- At least two (2) of those years spent working with volunteers
- Valid driver's license
- Approval by SDHS insurance carrier to drive a company or personal vehicle for work purposes
Desired Qualifications
- One (1) year supervisory experience (staff or volunteers)
- Experience working in an operational department of an animal shelter or other animal welfare organization (as staff or volunteer)
