Job Summary
Volunteer Coordinator drives the hospice volunteer program: develops and maintains volunteer training and orientation; recruits, educates, and selects volunteers from multiple sessions per year; coordinates with patient, family/caregiver, and interdisciplinary hospice team to establish volunteer needs; supervises and evaluates volunteers; maintains monthly statistics and personnel files; participates in program development, budget activities, and quality/improvement initiatives; engages with community groups and supports education meetings; contributes to ongoing program development and compliance with hospice philosophy.
Required Qualifications
- College degree (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a health care setting (Hospice and/or volunteer experience preferred)
- Ability to supervise, coordinate, and evaluate volunteer services
- Understands hospice philosophy
- Ability to organize and develop volunteer hospice personnel for both patient and organizational needs
- Ability to manage a group of individuals providing volunteer time and who will be considered employees
