Volunteer Coordinator - On Call

Job Summary
Lead volunteer shifts and supervise groups up to 100 people during repack activities, ensuring safe and efficient food transformation and distribution. Operate warehouse equipment, maintain work areas to food safety standards, and manage logistics for special projects alongside scheduling coordinators. Direct volunteer engagement strategies using inventory and engagement databases while organizing teams to act as advocates and donors. Perform administrative tasks including hour logging and shift reporting, and coordinate cross-departmental efforts for community outreach. Respond to inclement weather, service disruptions, and disaster events as needed, reporting promptly when safe to do so.

- Ability to maintain focus on tasks and produce accurate work in chaotic, fast-paced environment
- Enjoys directing and motivating diverse groups of volunteers
- Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to oversee and facilitate group discussions
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, volunteer management databases, and warehouse inventory management systems
- Access to reliable transportation
- Ability to thrive in a creative, responsive, and fast-paced culture
- Disposition and willingness to maximize multiple perspectives to innovate, problem solve and seek creative solutions
- Experience in modeling intercultural competence and demonstrated commitment to equity and social justice
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, collaborate, take initiative, and to maintain confidentiality
- Project coordination and organization skills; ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail; ability to handle interruptions, and produce timely, accurate work

- Experience of successful multicultural immersion working and/or living within OFB's Equity Constituencies: BIPoC, Immigrants & Refugees, Single Mothers, Trans and Gender-Non-Conforming folx
- Must be able to lift, move and carry objects from 20 to 40 pounds
- Must be available for evenings and weekends
- Must be available for occasional travel out of town
- Must be able to report to work as soon as it's safe to do so during inclement weather, service disruptions, or disaster response
