Job Summary
Supervise all volunteer activity within the designated service area and maintain compliance with the Medicare Hospice Conditions of Participation 5% volunteer requirement. Assess patient and family needs for volunteer services, recruit, train, and retain Administrative, Direct Care, Vigil, and Bereavement volunteers, while ensuring completion of health screening requirements. Facilitate orientation and annual training, serve as liaison between volunteers and staff, and represent the program at interdisciplinary team meetings. Maintain accurate records including visit documentation and monthly statistics, participate in quality assessment activities, and assist with reviewing volunteer policies.
Required Qualifications
- CPR certification
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Current auto insurance
- Deep understanding of hospice philosophy
- Ability to build rapport with volunteers, staff, and community partners
- Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in public speaking and group facilitation
- Flexible, empathetic, and capable of working independently and collaboratively
- Competent in Microsoft Office
- Competent in other basic office equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- At least four years of related experience
- Previous experience in healthcare
