Job Summary
Develop and manage volunteer training and orientation programs while recruiting, educating, and selecting volunteers through multiple annual sessions. Assess patient and family needs to match appropriate volunteer services, then supervise, support, and evaluate volunteers regularly. Organize volunteer support and education meetings, participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, and promote hospice volunteer services to individuals and community groups. Assist with budget planning for volunteer program development and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory standards. Work M-F 8a to 5p in Cincinnati, OH, with a background in volunteer management and hospice care preferred.
Required Qualifications
- College degree
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting
- Ability to recruit, organize, and support volunteer personnel within a hospice or healthcare environment
Desired Qualifications
- advanced degree in Human Services or related field
- Experience in hospice care and/or volunteer coordination
- Understanding of hospice philosophy and principles of compassionate end-of-life care
