Job Summary
Supervise volunteer activity within the designated service area and assess patient needs to coordinate appropriate placements. Recruit, train, and retain Administrative, Direct Care, Vigil, and Bereavement volunteers while facilitating orientation and annual training requirements. Maintain compliance with Medicare Hospice Conditions of Participation, including the 5% volunteer requirement, and ensure completion of health screenings. Serve as a liaison between volunteers and staff, representing the program at interdisciplinary team meetings and in the community. Maintain accurate volunteer records, including visit documentation and monthly statistics, and participate in quality assessment activities. Work part-time, three days a week with flexible scheduling.
Required Qualifications
- CPR certification
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Current auto insurance
- Deep understanding of hospice philosophy
- Ability to build rapport with volunteers, staff, and community partners
- Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in public speaking and group facilitation
- Flexible, empathetic, and capable of working independently and collaboratively
- Competent in Microsoft Office
- Competent in other basic office equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- At least four years of related experience
- Previous experience in healthcare
- Previous experience in hospice
- Previous experience in volunteer administration
