Job Summary
Supervise all volunteer activity within the designated service area while assessing patient needs to coordinate appropriate placements. Recruit, train, and retain Administrative, Direct Care, Vigil, and Bereavement volunteers, ensuring completion of health screenings and orientation. Serve as the liaison between volunteers and staff, representing the program at interdisciplinary team meetings and maintaining accurate records including visit documentation and monthly statistics. Participate in quality assessment activities and assist with reviewing volunteer policies. Maintain compliance with Medicare Hospice Conditions of Participation 5% volunteer requirement.
Required Qualifications
- CPR certification
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Current auto insurance
- Deep understanding of hospice philosophy
- Ability to build rapport with volunteers, staff, and community partners
- Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in public speaking and group facilitation
- Flexible, empathetic, and capable of working independently and collaboratively
- Competent in Microsoft Office
- Competent in other basic office equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- At least four years of related experience
- Previous experience in healthcare
