Job Summary
Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers for all departments, including Bell Ringers and Angel Tree workers, across Central Oklahoma Area Command counties. Build and maintain volunteer databases and prepare monthly statistical reports. Coordinate with department heads to determine volunteer requirements and schedule assignments. Make personal appearances for community relations and volunteer recruitment, and organize special projects assigned by the Area Commander. Maintain contact with current and potential volunteers throughout the year, recognizing them through annual appreciation events. Be available 24/7 as needed for disaster response training, teams, and assignments. Requires a valid driver's license and ability to work in normal office environments with occasional driving in heavy traffic or extreme weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Valid Driver's License
- Must be able to perform work in conjunction with disaster relief efforts or seasonal program assignments
- Must be able to perform work where there may be discomforts associated with heavy traffic or changes in weather
- Must be able to perform work with potentially long hours, evenings and weekends
- Must be able to lift less than 25lbs.
Desired Qualifications
- Two years' experience recruiting people to perform work on a volunteer basis preferred
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
