Job Summary
Volunteer roles across Administrative, Bereavement, and Patient Care duties in a hospice setting. Volunteers support daily operations, provide emotional support to bereavement clients, and visit patients and families to offer companionship, caregiver relief, errands, and other supportive tasks. All volunteers must submit timely documentation of activities to the Volunteer Coordinator and participate in ongoing education. Professional, Certified, and/or Complementary Therapies Volunteers must provide a current license, certification, or proof of training and experience, with a minimum of one year of experience. Roles emphasize infection control, patient confidentiality, and compassionate communication. Must be 18+, capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, and able to work in a healthcare setting with exposure to bodily fluids and infectious diseases. Required Qualifications
- Must provide a current license, certification, or proof of training and experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to maintain infection control requirements
- Regular standing, walking, and manual dexterity are fundamental
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds
- Strong written and verbal communications
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English
