Job Summary
Manage the statewide Volunteer Attorney Program by supervising staff, collaborating with the State Bar and Judicial Districts, and expanding pro bono representation for low-income New Mexicans. Implement LSC policies, develop training materials, and draft reports for Access to Justice and the Legal Services Corporation. Act as a liaison with practice groups, review case referrals, and organize legal clinics across the state. Expand the volunteer attorney network in family law, housing, and consumer law while solving operational issues and supporting client services. Located in Las Cruces or Albuquerque with periodic travel. Requires three years of practicing attorney experience and admission to practice in New Mexico. Salary ranges from $86,100 to $104,581.
Required Qualifications
- Three (3) or more years' experience as a practicing attorney
- Admission to practice in New Mexico required or ability to qualify for a limited license
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple tasks
- Enthusiasm for building collaborative relationships within the State Bar and the statewide pro bono community
- Must be willing to travel
- Proficiency in technology such as virtual meeting platforms (Zoom and Teams), Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in administrative, supervisory, or training roles
- Prior experience working with pro bono programs or handling pro bono cases
- Proficiency in Spanish
