Volunteer as Friendly Visitor/Companion - Symphony of Joliet (Hospice Patient)

Provide respite, companionship, and essential services such as errands or light housekeeping to hospice patients and families in-home, at the Inpatient Unit, or in Long Term Care Facilities. Offer supportive listening and serve as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team by providing input to the plan of care. Document volunteer time and visit activities accurately, maintain open communication with the coordinator, and participate in bereavement follow-ups. Adhere to all policies, complete mandatory annual education, and assist in training new volunteers while maintaining confidentiality.
