Volunteer as Companion/Friendly Visitor - Hospice Patient Support

Provide respite, companionship, and essential services such as errands and light housekeeping to patients in-home, at the Inpatient Unit, or in Long Term Care Facilities. Offer supportive listening to patients and families while serving as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team. Assist the team by providing input to the plan of care and participate in bereavement follow-ups. Document volunteer time and visit activities accurately, maintain open communication with the coordinator, and adhere to all policies and health requirements. Complete mandatory annual education and assist in training new volunteers.
