Volunteer as Companion/Friendly Visitor - Home Hospice Patient Support

Provide respite, friendly visits, and essential services such as errands, shopping, and light housekeeping to patients in-home, at the Inpatient Unit, or in Long Term Care Facilities. Offer emotional support, companionship, and supportive listening while serving as an integral member of the Hospice interdisciplinary team. Assist the team by providing input to the plan of care and document volunteer time and patient visit activity accurately. Maintain open communication by reporting regularly to the volunteer coordinator and participate in bereavement follow-ups with families as appropriate. Adhere to all Rainbow Hospice policies, complete mandatory annual education, and meet health requirements. Maintain confidentiality at all times and assist in training new volunteers.
