Job Summary
Coach individual participants in volleyball skills and develop an organized written practice plan with daily warm-up and cool-down procedures. Maintain accurate records of team lists, injury reports, scores, and incident reports while overseeing facility safety conditions during all student presence. Be present at every practice and contest to supervise weight rooms, locker rooms, and showers, enforcing discipline and sportsmanship. Provide guidance and counseling on scholastic achievement, college entrance, and citizenship, and determine athlete academic eligibility. Recommend equipment purchases, organize youth clinics, and attend Athletic Department and MIAA meetings to stay informed on rule changes.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of volleyball and its rules
- Ability to instruct players in all facets of the sport
- Evidence of ability to get along with pupils, parents, colleagues, and other citizens
- CPR Certification
Desired Qualifications
- Previous volleyball coaching experience
- Previous experience in either high school, college or both
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college
- Completion of the MIAA Coaches Education Class and/or other requirements by the MIAA
