Job Summary
Volleyball Assistant Varsity role supporting the head coach in running the high school varsity program. Responsibilities include teaching fundamentals and skills for volleyball, planning and scheduling in-season practices, ensuring safety conditions in facilities, maintaining statistics and season records, enforcing discipline and sportsmanship, staying current with coaching techniques and rules, assisting with equipment purchases, and helping communicate program information to parents and the public. Requires high school diploma (BA preferred), Iowa Coaching Endorsement, and relevant coaching experience; ability to collaborate with the coaching team and district staff; commitment to professional appearance and dependable attendance. The position emphasizes instructional coaching, program development, safety, and stakeholder communication.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma required
- BA degree in physical education or related field preferred
- Iowa Coaching Endorsement required
- Valid Iowa teaching license preferred
- Experience playing and coaching in applicable sport
- CPR and sports medicine experience preferred
