Job Summary
Conduct vocational assessments to identify skills, interests, and employment barriers for individuals with forensic backgrounds. Develop individualized employment plans and provide job readiness coaching, including resume development and interview preparation. Assist with job searches, advocate for workplace accommodations, and offer ongoing counseling to promote job retention and career advancement. Facilitate workshops on workplace expectations and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements. Travel throughout the community to meet with individuals, employers, and community partners. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary treatment team to coordinate services and support individual progress.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in vocational counseling, rehabilitation, employment services, or behavioral health
- Strong understanding of employment barriers experienced by individuals with behavioral health and forensic backgrounds
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong documentation and case management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems
- Valid New York State Driver's License
- Reliable personal vehicle available for community, employer, and home visits
- Verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Health, Human Services, Vocational Rehabilitation, or a related field
- Certification in Vocational Rehabilitation or Employment Specialist training
