Job Summary
ACT team-based Vocational Specialist delivers assessment, service planning, QA/I, utilization review, crisis intervention, and coordination of services for individuals with severe mental illness; provides direct, telehealth, and community-based services, requires 24/7 on-call coverage, and emphasizes recovery-oriented discharge planning, collaboration with agencies, data sharing, and ongoing QA training; roles include documentation and adherence to federal/state regulations, with opportunities for supervision and inclusion-focused culture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in social work, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, or related field
- Licensure with the NYS Education Department in a specific field is preferred
- Current New York State Driver's License
- Proof of Motor Vehicle Insurance
- Two years' experience working with the chronically mentally ill (Masters level) recommended
- Three years' experience working with the chronically mentally ill (Bachelor's level) recommended
- Competency in vocational rehabilitation must be demonstrated by at least one year of training and/or experience in integrated mental health and substance assessment and treatment or vocational assessment
