Job Summary
Vocational Nursing Instructor, Clinical – Full Time position at American Career College. Delivering class and clinical instruction per approved curriculum, supervising students in clinical settings, developing daily lesson plans, advising and tutoring students, maintaining attendance and grade records, and participating in faculty activities and college events. Requires California LVN/RN license and CPR, with educational pathways including a Baccalaureate degree (or CA teaching certification) or approved teaching-experience options; options include 2 years of nursing experience (RN/LVN) within the last 5 years or a combined 6 years of LVN/RN experience, and activity in teaching within a state-accredited nursing school within the last 5 years. Responsibilities also include staying current in the field, participating in professional development, and supporting student success and program outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Current active California license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN)
- Current CPR Card
- Education options: Baccalaureate degree OR CA teaching certificate OR completion of minimum 1 year full-time teaching experience in a nursing/practical nursing school within last 5 years OR ADN teaching minimums for CA
- OPTION 1: 2 years nursing experience as RN or LVN within last 5 years OR OPTION 2: 6 years nursing experience as LVN and RN combined or 6 years of either
