Job Summary
Vocal Music Teacher for K-12 in Tipton, Missouri. Responsible for providing direct vocal instruction to students, developing and implementing lesson plans, and maintaining a conducive learning environment. Duties include creating and enforcing a classroom disciplinary plan, collaborating in building/grade/subject-area committees, participating in professional development, maintaining accurate student records (attendance, grades, discipline), timely forms and reporting, regular communication with parents, participating on IEP/504/other student support teams, implementing 504 plans and individual educational programs, reporting suspected abuse or harassment per Board policy, preparing substitute lesson plans, and guiding performances with MSHSAA and local events. Requires ability to adapt instruction to student needs, establish positive relationships with students, peers, and parents, manage multiple tasks, and utilize district technology for grading and instructional delivery. Education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree; Certification: Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate in Vocal Music. Proficiency in reading professional materials, writing reports, delivering effective presentations, and applying current educational theory and instructional techniques. Environment involves a school setting with active, noisy classrooms and occasional outdoor duties related to student supervision and district transportation. Consistent attendance is required; the role involves preparing students for performances and coordinating with various educational teams to support student outcomes.
