Job Summary
Experienced VMware Virtualization Engineer SME to lead the migration to VMware Cloud Foundation 9 (VCF 9) and manage the full VMware stack across the Americas. Responsibilities include monitoring capacity, validating capacity increase requests, and replacing end-of-life servers to ensure service continuity; implementing Infrastructure as Code with Ansible, Terraform, and PowerCLI; deploying AI-driven monitoring and self-healing playbooks within Aria Operations; providing Tier 2/3 support on a 24x7 on-call rotation; participating in DR planning with a 5-second RPO and 15-minute RTO for critical workloads; and leveraging AI ops concepts for predictive monitoring and capacity forecasting. Requires +5 years of VMware experience and expert automation and networking skills.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with large-scale VMware environments (vSphere 8+, NSX-T, vSAN)
- Expert-level automation skills using PowerCLI, Ansible, Terraform, vRealize Automation, PowerShell/Python
- Hands-on experience with Aria Operations, VRLI, and VRNI
- Solid understanding of enterprise storage (EMC/Isilon, Pure Storage, Dell/NetApp SAN, iSCSI) and networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, NSX-T micro-segmentation)
- VMware certifications preferred (VCP-CMA, VCAP-CF); ITIL Foundation is a plus
- Experience in DR planning/testing with strict RPO/RTO
- Ability to provide Tier 2/3 support on a 24x7 on-call rotation
