Job Summary
Design and deploy VMware IT solutions, including ESX 7.0+ environments, while integrating new technologies to deliver secure, cost-effective infrastructure for Department of State bureaus. Provision virtual machines, apply patches, and rack and stack new data center equipment. Configure virtual switching in collaboration with the networking team and provide operational engineering support using virtual server hosting and Dell storage technologies. Maintain comprehensive system documentation, user guides, diagrams, and SOPs. Lead system integration projects and work with customers to capture and document requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Red Hat Linux and RHEL Satellite Server
- Senior-level knowledge of VMWare and vSphere design, integration, and deployment
- Knowledge or training on VMware and ESX 7.0+ deployment, configuration, and maintenance
- Windows engineer or administrator experience (Active Directory, GPOs, and PowerShell scripting)
- Experience leading system integration projects as the technical lead
- Experience working with customers to capture/document requirements
- BS and 5+ years of related experience
- Masters and 3+ years
- Top Secret clearance
- Willingness to support relocation from Springfield, VA to Washington, DC
